Our joy on this most Holy Day is that our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ has brought us beyond death and sin into a new life with Him, now and forever! Jesus is Alive!! Alleluia Alleluia!

News of special interest to our deaf community

Good People,

Christ has died and Mary Magdalene is looking for his body. She thinks she will find his dead body in the tomb but she can't find it.

Christ has risen and his body has passed through death and is now alive again. Now he has become the first one of us to enjoy the gift of a body made new and perfect: a body perfectly united to his soul. A body that now is immune from suffering and death.

What Jesus does in his new and glorified body ever is beautiful. It is so playful, simple, so human.

He hides from Mary as she searches for him. He wants to give her a little human scale playful surprise. He doesn't choose to show his glory or power. Instead he takes the opportunity to play the game all children love: Hide and seek.

He disguises himself as the gardener and pretends for a moment that he is the gardener. Mary meets him and his disguise works: she doesn't notice it is He. Then Jesus quietly shows himself to be there right in front of her. He shows up in the disguise of an everyday ordinary early morning groundskeeper.

Christ teaches us that he is closer to our everyday experience than we think. He loves to meet us in situations that we think are seemingly unimpressive.

Jesus is risen and this same risen Lord, mighty conqueror of sin and death now comes to meet us disguised as ordinary and flat bread and table wine to surprise us with a share in his perfect, quiet and simple, playful Easter peace.

In Christ,

Fr. St. Martin
