DOROTHY DAY AND THOMAS MERTON PRESENTATION
Jim Forest, a friend and biographer of both Day and Merton, will speak on “Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton: A Special Friendship” on Monday, May 9th, at 7:00 pm at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 573 Washington Street, Newton, in the lower hall. Though outwardly they led seemingly different lives—Day co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement and an activist, Merton a Trappist monk—they shared similar concerns and led disciplined religious lives. Each wrestled with the issues of their time and wrote spiritual classics that continue to inspire many. For more information contact Jenifer Suehs-Vassel at 617-527-7560 x219.
